Some say Wervik has the eldest of history, going back
to before the Romans.
Wervik used to have a blossoming textile industry and
still is the tobacco city of Belgium, with the
Tobacco center and the National Tobacco Museum.

For indulging yourself gastronomically, you could visit many places in West Flanders and close by Hainaut, homes of the ‘burgundian lifestyle’. There are also some very nice restaurants and pubs in Wervik and its district Geluwe.

For pampering yourself physically you only need to cross the street. My neighbor
